EDTA

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, widely abbreviated as EDTA is an aminopolycarboxylic acid and a colourless, water-soluble solid. Its conjugate base is named ethylenediaminetetraacetate. It is widely used to dissolve limescale. EDTA is produced as several salts, notably disodium EDTA and calcium disodium EDTA.
